the big life
I downloaded the first of Fifty Shades book around March this year and it was only last week that i decided to finally read it. After finishing the three books, i realized why this is so popular. It’s a typical chick-lit with the addition of the finest of details to the usual love scenes that are absent from the other chick-lit types.
I heard someone ask, dothese characters ever get tired? Of course he is referring to the sexual urges of the main characters presented in the three books. The novel depicts 1. the role of sexual lifestyle in determining the compatability of people, 2. the concept of dominance and submission in a relationship, 3. the power of mind, 4. psychological effects of growing up years to adulthood, and 5. the power of money
The novel actually reminded me of Anne Rice’s erotica trilogy under the pseudonym A. N. Roquelaure: The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty (1983), Beauty’s Punishment (1984),
Beauty’s Release (1985). But after a while, i realized that the two trilogies are not even comparable.
