Aroi mak mak

I have never been to Thailand. Sorry naman. But my very good friends, Chef Rael and Randy have introduced me to the very rich flavor of Thai Cuisine when they opened their cute lil’ Thai resto, the Purple Pad Thai in the former Courtyard in Balibago. The flavor of each dish is distinct, fresh and clean. Instantly, we fell in love with Pad Thai,Tom Yum, Bagoong rice, Cream Dori, Thai Tea, and their heavenly cakes. All my friends who have been to Thailand say that the taste of each meal is authentic, at most times they say, even better than the ones they had in Thailand.

After The Courtyard closed some years ago, Randy and Rael moved the Purple Pad Thai into a bigger place in Balibago right in front of the Sta. Maria Church. The entrance is a small store that goes all the way to the spacious dining area with a private function room on the second floor. The entire restaurant has a minimal design with bits of Thai inspired deco. The simplicity of the place makes one feel very comfortable. They continue to innovate and add other stuff in their menu to make the customers dining experience memorable and special. Their Thai Pomelo Salad is a big hit, with best pomelo in the country, which Randy ships all the way from Davao. Thai cuisine aficionados became regular customers of PPT. They also cater to private functions, like birthdays, seminars, meeting etc.

Just this year, Purple Pad Thai continues to grow as they opened in the newly renovated, food court of SM Clark.
