This is what art is about

The National Museum is a just across the University I am attending, and it’s a shame that I only had time to visit it today. Unfortunately, I went there 30 minutes before closing time, so I was not able to explore everything.

This short trip reminded me that the creative and artistic talents of Filipinos and our rich cultural gems are national treasures we all should be proud of.

I will definitely be back soon and I will see to it that I have ample time to admire the talent of the Filipino artists.

“batirol” night

The Angeles City Museum recently opened CAFE MUSEO, a small cafe that turns the lobby of the Museo into a cozy nook during evenings. I went there last night after a visit to the Blessed Sacrament, and ordered the popular Tsokolate Batirol and some pasalubongs to take home. The smell of putubumbong from the stalls in the plaza was so inviting, as it reminds me of the joyful season of Christmas. But more than the delicious food available in the cafe, I mostly enjoyed sitting outside as I watched the busy streets of Sto. Entierro with the majestic and peaceful background, the Holy Rosay Parish. This place would be a perfect place to just relax and appreciate the beauty of our town.

There are so many improvements in this part of the town, and I know that more people will frequent this place to have a laid back evening especially after a hectic day at work. I will definitely be back soon to try the cucumber and panda juice, and crackers with kesong putt.

Cafe Museo is opened from 3:00 pm tp 10 pm everyday.

Kudos to the Angeles City government in exerting effort to improve our town plaza!

Throwback

The vibe of our high school days, a period that I have not totally maximized. I may only have very few fond and vivid memories of my formative years, but this music brings back the good of those times.

equali-“team”

I have been watching this for several times now this week, and I still cannot believe UP Pep Squad was defeated by NU Pep Squad for the second time now. Last year, the UP Pep had a few falls causing the squad major deductions albeit the very strong performance. But this time, the UP Pep has proven their worth on the dance floor as they executed a stellar routine not even close to any of the contending squad. Known for their social, political, or cultural awareness themes for their annual  (except for last year’s very contemporary party theme) routine, and their unique moves, UP Pep Squad gave a very clear message on equality with stunts that will definitely be seen on other squads next year. With such confidence, assurance, and style or what is modernly referred to as “swag”, the UP Pep Squad has a pool of performers who understand what they are doing.

Looking forward for their next year’s performance.

Sino ba si code name, Shaider?

Nung mga bata kami,

ipinakilala ni Madame,

ang mga bayani ng ating bansa.

Bumili ng post card,
kumuha ng paste,

idinikit sa kopon ban.

Mga larawan at alalang
habang buhay ay itinatago

sa tig-tatlong pisong folder.

Natutuwa na kami noon
sa transformnation ni Shaider,

sa maliksing pagtakbo ni Anie
kahit di sya nagpapalit ng damit,

pati na rin ang dramatic na pagbuo
ng robot
ng mga Bioman,

Pero sa Channel 13 lang yon.

Sa pagdaan ng panahon,
na realized ko
ang totoong super heroes
ay walang costumes,

walang props,

wala ring entry sa
wikipedia.

si kuya na nagbuhat ng bayong ng matanda;

silang mga tumulong sa mga naging biktima ng Yolanda,

si ate na nagbigay ng limang piso dun sa pulubi sa kalsada;

Sila at marami pang iba,

ang mga
tagapagtanggol
ng tunay buhay.

Walang holiday,

walang monumento,

walang honorarium
sa
trabahong ginagampanan.

#NationalHeroesDay Mabuhay ka Pinoy!

Maging bayani sa bagong panahon.
